On November 5–6, 2024, Schifferberufskolleg RHEIN in Duisburg hosted a key consortium meeting for the 1System 4 Inland Waterway Learning project. The event served as both a peer-review and train-the-trainer session, offering valuable opportunities for exchange and reflection.
Under the guidance of FH Oberösterreich, peer-review sessions were conducted using pre-defined criteria. Feedback was collected, discussed, and shared among the project partners. The insights and recommendations gathered during these sessions will be used to enhance and refine project outputs in the months following the Duisburg meeting.
Highlights of the Event
- ✅ A hands-on evaluation session was held on board STC’s training vessel, Ab Initio, providing participants with direct exposure to the tools and methods developed.
- 🛳️ The program also included a guided tour of duisport – Duisburger Hafen AG, Europe’s largest inland port. Participants learned about ongoing innovations related to hydrogen technology and cybersecurity, illustrating the port’s forward-thinking approach to sustainable and secure inland waterway transport.
This event marked an important step in validating and improving the project’s digital learning modules and teaching methodologies, with a strong focus on collaboration, innovation, and practical application.
